PILSEN CITIZEN SCIENCE LAB
Fast-Tracking Pilsen To Climate-Neutrality
COMPAIR is an EU project that empowers cities and regions to more rapidly achieve net zero by leveraging citizen science, low-cost sensors, and new digital tools. Our citizen science lab is measuring air quality and traffic in various locations across Pilsen to provide data-driven insights for collaborative policy making and sustainable lifestyles. In Pilsen, we support the implementation of the Climate Resilience Strategy 2030 by mobilising communities to act on air pollution and climate change, two related environmental issues that residents want to see solved as soon as possible. Are you ready to join the action?

School Street
01
Our city understands the importance of clean air and healthy environments for students. School streets are a great way to reduce traffic and air pollution, making school environments safer and healthier. As a project dedicated to promoting clean air, we fully support local school streets initiatives that contribute to a healthier and safer environment for children.
02
ULEZ
The ultra low emission zone is vital to reducing air pollution and improving air quality in our city. By limiting the number of high-emission vehicles on the road, we can minimize the negative impacts on the environment and promote cleaner air for everyone to breathe. We are supporting cities in measuring ULEZ impacts.
Roma
03
The Roma community is often disproportionately affected by poor air quality, making it critical to engage with them and provide tailored solutions. At COMPAIR, we are committed to partnering with the Roma community to address their specific air quality concerns and provide long-term support. By working together, we can improve the air quality and overall health and wellbeing of everyone in our communities.
Petra Boiko, COMPAIR volunteer
Participating in citizen science has helped me to improve my knowledge and skills in air quality monitoring. Clean air can provide many benefits, including improved cognitive function, better sleep, and even increased productivity. By working together, we can create a healthier and more sustainable environment for everyone.
